The Ship AIS Application Router (SAAR) connects to the AIS transponders standardized interface and communicates this information to several independent applications, such as ARPA, ECS/ECDIS systems. The SAAR provides full duplex connection via LAN or individual serial communication lines together with independent filtering on binary application and short messages on each individual connection.
